16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM

November 25 - December 10

Rural Education and Economic Enhancement Programme (REEP) stands in solidarity with survivors, communities, and partners across Busia County and Kenya in marking the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence an annual global campaign running from 25th November to 10th December.

This year, we spotlight a growing and urgent issue: digital violence. As our lives move more online, women and girls face increasing risks of cyberbullying, online harassment, exploitation, misinformation, cyberstalking, and the non-consensual sharing of intimate images. Digital spaces must be safe, inclusive, and respectful for everyone.

Through the 16 Days of Activism, REEP is committed to:

Raising awareness on the different forms of digital and physical GBV

Strengthening community protection systems and referral pathways in Busia County

Empowering women, girls, and youth with knowledge and tools to stay safe online

Advocating for stronger policies, budgets, and enforcement mechanisms

Supporting survivors with psychosocial, legal, and community-based assistance

Mobilizing local leaders, schools, communities, and partners to unite and take action

Our activities will include community dialogues, media engagement, digital safety sensitizations, stakeholder forums, youth-led advocacy, and survivor-centered outreach.

At REEP, we believe that ending GBV online and offline requires collective commitment.
Together, we can create a world where every woman and girl is safe, empowered, and able to thrive both in digital and physical spaces.
